Welcome to CrossRoads Preschool

Welcome

The staff of CrossRoads Preschool is pleased to welcome you and your child. CrossRoads is a state-licensed school operated as a non-profit community outreach program under the authorization of Hebron Baptist Church, and is open to all children without regard to race, creed, or color.

This packet helps answer common questions about our policies. Please keep it for future reference.

Mission Statement

The mission of CrossRoads Preschool is to nurture a spiritual, educational, and social foundation for each preschooler by providing a loving, Christian environment where children can express themselves and learn through creative play and an enriching curriculum.

Daily Programs and Routines

  • Programs for 3 and 4 year olds.
  • 3’s: two days per week, Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday
  • 4’s: three days per week (Mon–Wed or Tue–Thu) or four days per week (Mon–Thu).
  • Morning classes: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Afternoon classes: 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

  • Closings and Delays

We follow the Boone County Schools calendar closely for holidays and weather decisions. If Boone County is on a 1 or 2 hour delay, classes begin at 10:00 a.m. If Boone County is closed to in-person learning, CrossRoads is closed. There is no credit for days missed due to cancellation.

Families running late due to siblings are welcome. Ring the buzzer on arrival.

Do not use the steps between upper and lower lots during inclement weather.

    Enrollment Procedures

  • Returning 5-year-olds entering the 4’s program receive priority in mid-February.
  • Open enrollment: first Wednesday in March, 9–11 a.m.
  • Priority order: returning students and siblings, Hebron Baptist Church members, then families with past siblings, then general public.
  • If full, a waiting list will be kept.
  • Arrival and Departure

  • Doors open at 8:58 a.m. and 12:28 p.m. and lock at 9:15 and 12:45.
  • Enter via the main preschool doors. Use the doorbell if locked.
  • Walk your child to class and sign in. Quick goodbyes help children transition.
  • Authorized pickup and photo ID required if not recognized.
  • Late pickup fee: $5 per child per 15 minutes, paid to teachers before next school day.
  • Security

  • Cameras are located at entry doors and the playground.
  • Doors remain locked.
  • Visitors are buzzed in.

  • Needs and Requirements

    • KY Immunization Certificate on file within 10 days of enrollment.
    • All allergies must be provided in writing to the director and staff.
    • All children must be fully potty trained and independent with clothing, wiping, and handwashing.
    • Send a spare outfit in a labeled zip bag.
    • Close-toed shoes only. Gym shoes are best. No sandals, flip-flops, or crocs.

    Health Policies

Please keep children home if sick or contagious. Children must be fever free for 24 hours to return. Staff do not administer medications.

    Emergency steps unless otherwise directed:

    • Notify parent or guardian using numbers provided.
    • Contact pediatrician on the emergency form.
    • Transport by ambulance or private vehicle to the designated hospital.

    Discrimination Policy

Students, their Parents/Guardians, and all employees of CrossRoads Preschool do not discriminate based on sex, race, color, national origin, age, religion, marital status, or handicap in educational activities, admissions, or employment.

    Discipline

We use kind, consistent, firm discipline with positive redirection. No physical punishment. Time away may be used to regain self-control. Persistent issues prompt a conference to set goals. If behavior is unsafe or extremely disruptive, a parent may be asked to pick up the child. Continued issues may result in dis-enrollment at the director’s discretion.

    Withdrawal Policy

Two weeks written notice is required. Without notice, tuition for that period is still due. With notice, refunds are issued within 30 days less any outstanding charges.

    Birthdays

  • Coordinate with the teacher if you plan to bring treats. Cookies or packaged snacks work well.
  • Please do not bring cupcakes.
  • Party invitations should not be passed out at school unless the entire class is invited.
